Film Synopsis
This intimate and emotional film is an insight into the life of a young teenaged couple, Feng and May, falling in and out of love with each other within the course of a single day.
The film opens on the eve of Wei’s, the couple’s son, birthday. Unfortunately, it is also the day Feng decides to quit his job, leaving the family with no source of income whatsoever. This leads to a heated argument ending up with Feng leaving the house in fury.
The next day, Feng tries to make up for his behaviour. For the first time in a long while, he is able to spend a day with May getting the birthday cake. Though he tries to rekindle the love they once shared, his joblessness serves as a source of discontent, and reopens the scars in their relationship that they have always tried to ignore but now come all at once, as troubles always do.
So much that by the time the birthday cake is cut, their relationship in almost in tatters. But there is a glimmer of hope for them, and it comes in the form of their birthday gift to their son Wei.
